What Is On Your Mind? The Invisible Force Behind Your Life

The human mind is a marvel. It is intangible and invisible, yet it influences the attitude, belief, and feeling we possess.

The human mind is a marvel. It is intangible and invisible, yet it influences the attitude, belief, and feeling we possess. While we might differ on its exact location—some pointing to the heart, others to the brain or the soul—we all agree on one thing: the mind is powerful beyond measure.

Discovering Your “Why”

Most successful coaches build their careers on helping people shift their mindsets. Recently, I have been pondering my own ‘Why.’ If you have read Simon Sinek’s Start With Why, you’ll know that your ‘Why’ is different from a catchy social media bio. It isn’t just a specific service; it is the fuel for the kind of friend, sibling, and human you are in every facet of your life.

My ‘Why’ is: “To empower you to thrive as ‘you’ in life and relationships.”

Over many years, I’ve learnt that my core purpose is to love, support, and inspire people to be the best they can be within their specific circumstances. This empowerment, however, cannot be achieved without deep, God-powered mind work.

I encourage you to try to uncover what your ‘why’ is as it would be a good foundation to get rid of mental luggages that may not be serving your core purpose. It’s slightly different from a business friendly captivating statement or message that needs you to be as specific as possible. For example a message/captivating statement excellent for a website or social media bio could be “ I help first time mothers recover from post natal depression so that they can enjoy motherhood” or “I help dog owners with unruly dogs train their dogs to become the pet they love and adore’. On the contrary, your ‘why’ can seem vague but it’s subliminally precise and intentional. Your ‘why’ is applicable to support a first time mother or dog owner but it can be the  fuel how you show up in your relationships as a friend, sibling, colleague and parent. It’s the anchor reason that fuels or motivates most of your acts of service consciously and sub-consciously.

Why We Neglect the Mind

When I wrote The ABCs of Wellness, I didn’t plan for 60% of the chapters to be dedicated to the mind, but “it is what it is.” The mind is undeniably central to our well-being. Yet, even with mental health conversations being more culturally appropriate today, many of us still don’t care for our minds intentionally.

Are you waking up with a plan to rest, exercise, and eat foods that specifically enrich your mental state? Statistics show that in 2026, 1 in 6 people will experience common mental health problems like depression. It is a movement that cannot be over-emphasised—we must take the health of our minds and hearts seriously.

Faith and Mental Wellbeing

As a Christian, I find it fascinating how much the Bible emphasises mind-care. Yet, for various reasons, intentional silence or “mind audits” are often treated as “non-Christian” practices. How can we overcome anxiety and depression without using the tools provided to us?

To support you in this journey, I’ve developed two resources designed to bridge that gap:

The Mind Audit Tool: A filter for your thoughts. It serves as a self-check-in to help you understand your current season and begin the healing process.

The Mind Self-care and Meditation Guide: A practical, faith-based guide to help you master meditation through biblical principles.

The Only Factor You Can Control

PS: Despite who people are, the  circumstances you find yourself in, the only ‘factor’ you can control is you and that is one of the life-giving life facts an adult can embrace. The world may not change, your spouse may never grow as you desire, your parents may not stop disappointing you, the education system may worsen, and nothing might restore your loss but, as long as you are alive, there is one thing you can still change and improve by the grace of God– YOU & YOUR MINDSET!

Take a step today. Whether it’s through my tools or joining my Coach Waitlist for a one-to-one session, start prioritising the incredible gift that is your mind.

With love,

Adaeze
